City of Cleveland Contractor Bond – The Purpose of the Bond’s Requirement
The city of Cleveland contractor bond is not a type of insurance policy; it is a surety.
The bond is a financial guarantee for the city of Cleveland and its residence that a licensed contractor will perform contracting work according to the city’s building code.
The bond’s existence holds Cleveland harmless from any harm caused by work, failure to begin or complete work, or substandard work committed by a licensed and bonded contractor.
The protections of the bond extend also to any failure of work performed by any employees and subcontractors of a licensed contractor.
For your purposes, if a claim were paid against your Cleveland contractor bond, you are legally obliged to reimburse the surety in full. This reimbursement would include all costs and fees which result from a claim.
AmeriPro Surety Bonds is a surety bonds-only agency. We provide contractor surety bonds throughout Ohio cities and municipalities.
