Contractors – Little Rock

Although you may already have a contractor license and state-mandated surety bond in the state of Arkansas, if you are performing work in the city of Little Rock, you’ll need another bond — one which is made payable directly to the city.

Meeting the requirement for the $10,000 city of Little Rock contractor bond is easy and takes just a few minutes of your time.

The city states that there is no particular bond form required, other than that the bond is made payable to Little Rock; we have our own form which we’ll provide for you.

Qualifying and the Premium

You are automatically approved for the $10,000 Little Rock contractor bond. After completion of a short surety bond application — which we’ll take from you over the phone — and which is really little more than how you want the bond titled, the bond is issued immediately to you after payment of the premium.

The premium is $100.

A copy of your surety bond can be emailed to you; however, it is the original surety bond, which will have our signature as Surety and which you will sign as Principal, that you’ll want to file with the city.

Additional Premium Payment Options

At $100 premium, the Little Rock contractor bond is issued for a one year period. Thereafter, the surety bond and the premium alike renew.

You also have the option to prepay your surety bond for up to 3 years. Prepayment of the premium allows you a savings over annual renewal of the bond premium besides lengthening the time between renewals.

The premium prepayment options and savings are as follows:

  • If prepaid for 2 years, the premium is $180, a $20 savings;
  • If prepaid for 3 years, the premium is $260, a $40 savings.

Purpose of Your Surety Bond

The purpose of your bond is to serve as a financial guarantee for the city of Little Rock that you will be in compliance with all laws and rules involved in contracting. The bond holds the city harmless for any damages caused by you or those whom you employ.
