Maine Real Estate Property Preservation Services Providers
Licensees for the Maine property preservation license are required to furnish a $15,000 surety bond, in accordance with regulations from the Department of Professional & Financial Regulation, Consumer Credit Protection.

Qualifying and the Premium
You are automatically approved for the $15,000 Maine property preservation license surety bond. The premium is just $150 annually.
When you call our agency, we’ll take the application from you directly over the phone. The application will just consist of the basics — the name as it should appear on your surety bond, your address and other contact information.
We’ll also ask you the name of the county where you live; if you have a DBA name for your business, and the title you hold within your company.
After payment of the $150 premium, our agency issues the bond to you immediately. You will receive the following documents in the mail:
- Your surety bond;
- Our signature, which is notarized as Surety;
- A form for you to have your signature notarized as Principal;
- A Power of Attorney form.

Premium Payment Options
Your surety bond will have a premium renewal on the anniversary of its issuance
The option exists to prepay your $15,000 surety bond up to 3 years. While at your discretion, doing so will save you over annual renewals.
The premium prepayment options and savings are as follows:
- If prepaid for 2 years, the premium is $270, a $30 savings;
- If prepaid for 3 years, the premium is $390, a $60 savings.
Purpose of Your Surety Bond
This surety bond is a financial guarantee of your professional compliance with all regulations and laws concerning real estate property preservation.
More specifically, the bond guarantees your compliance with Title 32, Maine Revised Statutes Annotated Sections 11001 to 11054 and any future amendments.
