Licensing of Texas Public Weighers
Texas public weighers are licensed by the state’s Department of Agriculture to provide accurate commodity weight measurements.
Licensing involves submitting an application, known as RWM-702, and registering your scale(s) with the TDA (Texas Department of Agriculture).
As a further prerequisite to licensing, you must also provide a 2-year, $10,000 surety bond. The surety bond is known as form RWM-704.
Once licensed by TDA, you must maintain a bound book, for two years of the measurements you make in conjunction with your professional duties.
