Licensing of Texas Solid Waste Vehicles

Texas businesses which transport solid waste for disposal are licensed by the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles.

The surety bond required of such vehicles is $1000 per vehicle. This is as per Section 219.3 of the Texas Administrative Code.

Additionally, this surety bond is issued with a date which will always end on August 31st.

Qualifying and the Premium

According to state law, you are required to obtain a $1000 separate Texas waste transport bond for each vehicle owned and operated by your business.

Our reading of the statute suggests that each vehicle will have its own separate $1000 surety bond. This is because the certificate of the original bond (which we’ll mail to you upon purchase) must be kept in the vehicle at all times.

Additionally, each bond will have the VIN number printed on the bond itself. And, we’ll also request your vehicle’s make and model number.

Issuing your bond will typically take just a few minutes (there is no credit check for a $1000 surety bond amount), and after payment of the $100 premium, we’ll have your bond mailed to you.

Upon receipt of your original bond, you’ll sign it as Principal and file a copy to:
