Licensing of Third Party Skills Testers

 

 

 

Third party skills tester providers are licensed by the Texas Department of Public Safety. This profession offers training for Classes A, B, C and CDL licenses.

Each third party examiner is required to have a separate $25,000 surety bond in their own name.

 

 

 

Qualifying and the Premium

 

 

 

You are automatically approved for the $25,000 Texas third party skills tester provider bond. There is no credit check, and this bond is issued to you upon completion of a short surety bond application.

The premium is 1%, $250 annually.

When you call our agency, obtaining this surety bond is simple. We’ll ask you the name as it should appear on your bond; and also for your address, email and phone number. Too, we’;; need the Texas county where you operate, and also your title.

After payment of the premium, your bond is issued to you immediately.

In the mail, you’ll receive your surety bond and a Power of Attorney form. After signing your bond as Principal, you’ll file both documents to:

You may prepay your premium up to 3 years and save over annual renewals.

The premium prepayment option and savings are as follows:

  • If prepaid for 2 years, the premium is $450, a $50 savings;
  • If prepaid for 3 years, the premium is $650, a $100 savings.
