Wyoming Notary License
Applicants for the Wyoming notary license will want to visit the Secretary of State website which explains how to become a notary public.
A condition of licensing is that after you have received notification that your application has been processed, you’ll buy a $500 notary public bond.
According to state rules, you must buy your notary bond within 60 days of your commission date.
Included with your Wyoming notary public bond is a $500 Errors and Omissions policy. Unlike your notary surety bond, which protects the public, and is required, an E&O policy protects YOU from non-intentional errors. Your $500 E&O policy is automatically included with your notary public bond for NO ADDITIONAL FEE.
Your Premium and Qualifying
The Wyoming notary public bond is a $500 surety bond with a onetime premium of $50 for the length of your commission.
When you call our agency, the application takes about 5 minutes, if that.
We’ll need the date of your commission, along with your name and address, exactly as it should appear on your bond. We’ll also need the Wyoming county where you live.
After payment of the premium, our agency issues your notary public bond to you and mails it to you by the following day.
Upon receipt, you’ll sign your bond as Principal and file it to:
State of Wyoming
Wyoming Secretary of State
2020 Care Avenue, Suite 600/700
Cheyenne, WY 82002-0020
The E&O policy you’ll want to keep for your records; it does not need to be filed with the Secretary of State.
Purpose Of Your Surety Bond
