Note: The surety bond offered by our agency is for bail agents, only, who are required to have this bond as a condition of licensing with the state of Alabama. We are not a bail bond agency nor are we affiliated with any bail bond companies.
The state of Alabama Office of Administrative Courts oversees the regulation of bail bond agencies.
In Alabama, a $25,000 surety bond is required.
Qualifying and Estimated Premium
Qualifying for the Alabama bail bondsman bond is by completion of an application and credit check. The estimated surety bond premium for this bond will be $250 annually. The surety bond renews on an annual basis.
The application for the bail bondsman (or bail agent) surety bond can be taken over the phone with an agent. As part of the application process, you will be asked:
- Whether or not you have any bankruptcies, unsatisfied judgments, or lawsuits against you;
- Whether you have any tax liens or outstanding collection items;
- Whether or not you have ever had any surety bond canceled or declined.
A credit inquiry and underwriter review is standard for approval. Surety agencies use a soft inquiry. Such inquiries have no adverse impact on your credit score.
Purpose of the Bail Bondsman Surety Bond
The bail bondsman surety bond is a financial guarantee for the state of Alabama that any monies which become due to the state as a result of a bail bond forfeiture will be paid.
As stated within the wording of the bond itself, the liability of the bond will not exceed the bond’s amount; in this case, $25,000. However, as Principal for this bond — namely, you— you are required to indemnify the surety for all costs and fees as a result of any payment on this surety bond.
AmeriPro Surety Bonds is a surety bonds-only agency. We provide license and permit surety bonds throughout Alabama.
Our agency also provides surety bonds nationwide.
