Arkansas – Paid Solicitors

Paid solicitors in Arkansas are regulated by the Arkansas Secretary of State. Besides a $200 application fee, Consent for Service form, and other requirements, you are also required to obtain a $10,000 surety bond.

Meeting the $10,000 surety bond requirement will be the easiest and fastest part of your licensing process.

Qualifying and the Premium

As a candidate for the $10,000 Arkansas paid solicitor bond, you are automatically approved after completion of a very short surety bond application – which we’ll take from you over the phone – and payment of the $150 premium.

Your Arkansas paid solicitor bond involves no credit check inquiry nor underwriter review; you’re approved immediately.

Once the bond premium has been paid, our agency will have the bond sent to you by the following business day. It is the original surety bond which you will sign as Principal, and which will also bear our signature as Surety, that you’ll want to file with the AR Secretary of State.

Premium Payment Options

At $150 premium, the Arkansas paid solicitor bond is issued for a standard one year period. Your bond and the premium renews annually. As a paid solicitor for charitable organizations, an active surety bond must always be on file.

Our agency gives you the option to prepay your bond’s premium for up to 3 years. Besides lengthening the time between renewals, prepayment of the premium allows you a savings over renewing each year.

The premium prepayment options and savings are as follows:

  • If prepaid for 2 years, the premium is $270, a $30 savings;
  • If prepaid for 3 years, the premium is $390, a $60 savings.

Purpose of the Requirement

The purpose of the surety bond requirement is a financial guarantee which ensures your compliance with all laws regarding paid solicitation in Arkansas, but especially Arkansas Annotated Code § 4-28-401 [ and any future amendments to this law.
