The Arkansas State Plant Board regulates the activities and licensing of pest control companies. One of the statutory requirements is that licensees obtain and maintain a surety bond. The bond amount required depends on the nature of your pesticide business.
The bond, once issued, will always have a June 30th expiration date.
Applicants for the $50,000 pest control surety bond will complete a standard application – which we’ll take from you over the phone --- pay the premium of $250 (assuming the term is for a full year; we do prorate this bond’s premium depending on the date of purchase) and have the bond issued immediately.
For the $50,000 surety bond, there is no credit check nor underwriter review. What this means for you is that after payment of the premium, you’ll have your bond in minutes ready for mailing to you.
Applicants for the $100,000 Arkansas pest control bond will complete the same application, but will need to sign it before it is reviewed by an underwriter. There will also be a credit inquiry. Applicants will need to have good credit in order to qualify.
A full year premium for the $100,000 surety bond will be $500; however, depending on when the bond is purchased, the premium may be prorated as to price. Again, your bond will have an expiration date of June 30th.
The premium amounts reference refer to a one year premium. Regardless of when your surety bond is purchased, the renewal date will be June 30th.
Our agency also offer you the option to prepay your bond for up to 3 years. Prepayment of the premium benefits you in two ways: One, it lengthens the time between surety bond renewals; two, it allows you a savings over renewing each year.
While this option is open to you, Arkansas statutes state that the bond may not be issued for more than one year.
The premium amounts (assuming a full year term with no prorating) and savings are as follows:
– $50,000 Surety Bond --
– $100,000 Surety Bond –
These premiums are also prorated depending on when your pest control bond is purchased.
According to Statute 17-37-210, the purpose of your pest control surety bond requirement is for the benefit of any person who suffers damage due to the failure of a licensed pest control company to perform their duties according to contractual obligations.
