As part of the licensing of California jet fuel dealers, you are required to obtain a surety bond. The purpose of this bond is to guarantee that all taxes related to the sales of jet fuel are remitted to the state of California as required.
The demand and requirement for a surety bond are pursuant to the California Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax License Law, as amended.

According to California Article 4, 7486, the amount of surety bond required will not be more than 3 times the estimated average monthly tax liability, with a maximum cap of $1,000,000.

The aircraft jet fuel dealer bond is issued for a standard 12 month term. Your bond will renew on the anniversary of its issuance; and, presumably the amount required may differ from one year to the next.
