Colorado Cigarette Wholesale Distributor Bond
AmeriPro Surety Bonds | 844-589-9732
Surety Bond, Amount, and Purpose
Cigarette wholesale distributors in Colorado are required by the state’s Department of Revenue to furnish proof of financial responsibility as evidenced by a surety bond.
The amount of the surety bond is equal to the total anticipated monthly purchase of stamps.
The purpose of this requirement is to serve as a financial guarantee that you’ll pay all taxes, fees, penalties and interests as outlined under Article 28, Title 39 of the Colorado Revised Statutes, as amended.
Qualifying and the Premium
Qualifying for the Colorado cigarette wholesale distributor bond includes completing a short surety bond application. While the application will need to be signed by you and a witness (it does not need to be notarized), we’ll complete much of the application with you over the phone.
After submitting a completed application, there is an underwriter review which includes a credit check inquiry. The review typically takes a few business hours, depending on the time of day that the application is submitted.
To be approved, good credit is required, and the premium is 2% of the surety bond amount.
Once your surety bond is approved, and the premium is paid, our agency issues you the following: An original surety bond which we will sign as Surety and which you will sign as Principal, and a Power of Attorney form.
Upon receipt, all completed documents will be filed by you to:
Colorado Department of Revenue
P.O. Box 17087
Denver, CO 80217-0087
