Manufactured Homes Installer – Colorado

The Department of Local Affairs, Division of Housing, regulates installations of manufactured housing in Colorado.

The Division requires installers to furnish evidence of the proper surety bond. Our agency provides you with the bond required in a matter of minutes.

Amount of Surety Bond Required and Qualifying

The Colorado installer of manufactured homes bond is a $10,000 surety bond required of those who engage in this profession.

Qualifying couldn’t be an easier.

After completion of an application (which can be done over the phone with an agent), and payment of the $100 annual premium, the surety bond is issued to you immediately.  There is no credit inquiry nor the standard underwriting process involved with this bond.

After the bond has been issued, a copy of the bond can be sent to you by email, and the original bond will be sent to you by the same or the following business day.

Bond Term and Additional Premium Payment Options

The installer of manufactured homes bond is issued with a standard term of one year. Thereafter the premium for $100 is renewed.

You may choose to prepay this bond for 2 or 3 years, which offers you a savings over year to year renewal of the bond premium.

Prepayment options are as follows:

  • If prepaid for 2 years, the surety bond will cost you $180;
  • If prepaid for 3 years, the surety bond premium is $260.

The Purpose of Your Installer Surety Bond

As stated within the surety bond wording, the installer of manufactured homes surety bond is a financial guarantee which ensures that you (or your installer business) will:

  • Pay for any repairs for damages caused by you in the installation of a manufactured home;
  • Pay for any compliance inspections which ensure that a manufactured home is up to code.

As principal of the surety bond, you are responsible to indemnify the surety for any claims paid against your bond.
