The Colorado Division of Professions and Occupations administers the licensing of private investigators in the state.
In addition to meeting licensing requirements, licensed private investigators are required to furnish evidence of a surety bond.
Current statutes state that the amount of the Coloardo private investigator surety bond is at least $10,000. We typically see the $10,000 amount as what is required of applicants for the PI license. You will, of course, inform us of if the amount you require is higher.
Qualification couldn’t be easier for this bond as there is no credit inquiry involved for amounts up to $50,000.
After completion of an application, and payment of the surety bond premium (at $10,000, the premium is $100, annually), the bond is issued to immediately.
Upon issuance, an emailed copy of the bond can be sent to you at no extra charge, and the original copy of the bond with the wet signature will follow in the mail the same or following business day.
A $10,000 Colorado private investigator bond can be prepaid up to 3 years with the following pricing
We also offer prepayment of this surety bond for any amount you require. A $50,000 private investigator surety bond, for example, will cost you just $375 for a year and can be prepaid:
