Delaware Telemarketing Registration

Telemarketing businesses operating in Delaware are regulated by the Attorney General’s office. Such businesses must provide a civil and administrative history, a criminal history, and other information.

You are also required to obtain a $50,000 surety bond.

Qualifying and the Premium

The $50,000 Delaware telemarketing registration bond is issued to you within minutes of calling; you are automatically approved. There is no business or personal credit inquiry, and the premium is just 1%, $500 annually.

When you call us, we’ll just ask you the following: The name of your business, exactly as it should read on your surety bond, along with your address, email and phone number.

If applicable, we’ll also request your DBA name. And finally, we’ll ask the professional title of the person (i.e. principal) who will be signing your surety bond.

After payment of the premium, your surety bond and a Power of Attorney (POA) form are issued to you immediately. Upon receipt of both items, you’ll sign the surety bond as Principal, filing it along with the original POA form to:

Delaware Department of Justice

Consumer Protection Unit, 5th Floor

820 North French Street

Wilmington, DE 19801

Premium Prepayment Options

The $500 premium associated with this surety bond is for one year. Our agency also offers you the option to prepay your premium up to 3 years.

You benefit in two ways with prepaying your premium. The first is that the time between renews is lengthened; the second is that you have a savings over renewing annually.

The premium prepayment options and savings are as follows:

  • If prepaid for 2 years, the premium is $900, a $100 savings;
  • If prepaid for 3 years, the premium is $1300, a $200 savings.

Purpose Of Your Surety Bond Requirement

The purpose of your surety bond is to serve as a financial guarantee of your compliance with Title 6, Chapter 25A, which is known as the Telemarketing Registration and Fraud Prevention Act.
