The Florida fundraiser bond is a $50,000 surety bond required by the FDACS and is available from AmeriPro Surety Bonds: 844-589-9732.
Organizations or individuals who engage in fundraisers and solicitations from people or organizations in Florida are required to register with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS).
The Department and Chapter 496.410 (4) of the Florida State Statutes, which deals with the solicitation of funds, also requires you to obtain a $50,000 surety bond as a prerequisite for licensing with the Department.
This surety bond is offered by AmeriPro Surety Bonds. We will process your application directly over the phone. The application takes only a few minutes.
The FDACS requires the $50,000 Florida fundraiser bond as a financial mechanism to protect consumers – those who donate to a fundraiser --- from any fraud, theft, misrepresentation, and criminal conduct committed by and related to a fundraiser licensed in the state of Florida, in connection with fundraising activities.
To be clear, the surety bond requirement does not protect your fundraising organization at all.
Rather, besides being a requirement for licensing with the Department, its main purpose is to protect the public from illegal acts committed by a fundraiser or charitable organization in connection with fundraising.
The premium represents the cost you are required to pay for the privilege of obtaining a Florida fundraiser bond.
So, while the bond’s full value is $50,000, you will only pay a small percentage of that amount.
An applicant for this surety bond may pay as little as $750 annually.
The amount, however, that you will be required to pay for this surety bond will be determined by your application, but most importantly, your credit score.
With that consideration in mind, the premium for the fundraiser bond may vary.
This surety bond is active from one year from the date of issuance and renews on annual basis.
