The Louisiana Auctioneers Licensing Board is the state body charged with the licensing of auctioneers in Louisiana. The state provides separate applications for auctioneer businesses, individuals, and apprentices.
All of the above auctioneer categories require a $10,000 surety bond. By statute, the surety bond will always have an expiration date of December 31st. Our agency offers this bond for your compliance within a matter of about 5 minutes.
Qualifying for the $10,000 Louisiana auctioneer bond couldn’t be easier. You are automatically pre-approved. Once you complete the standard surety bond application, which can be taken over the phone with an agent and pay the $100 premium, the bond will be issued to you immediately.
A copy of the bond can be sent to you by email; however, the Board will only accept an original, signed surety bond. Both you and our agency will sign the bond.
The bond will be mailed to you within one business day of the payment of the premium. You will sign the mailed bond before filing it with the Board.
Our agency also provides you with the option to prepay the Louisiana auctioneer bond for up to 2 or 3 years. Bear in mind that regardless of the payment option chosen, this surety bond will always have a expiration date of December 31st.
Prepayment allows you to increase the intervals between bond renewals and have a savings at the same time.
The breakdown of the premium is as follows:
The auctioneer surety bond is a financial guarantee that you will observe all relevant laws, and act in a manner that is objective and irreproachable in your activities as an auctioneer.
