Maryland waste haulers are able and required to furnish a surety bond to the state’s Highway Administration department.
The surety bond is a financial guarantee that in exchange for the state of Maryland extending permit credit (for payment) to waste haulers for over sized and overweight loads, amounts owed as a result of the credit will be paid within 30 days of the last day of the month from which the charges are incurred.
The state will determine the amount of surety bond required of you based on its own calculations.
