Nebraska Motor Fuels Tax Bond
AmeriPro Surety Bonds | 844-589-9732
Surety Bond; Purpose
Nebraska motor fuels dealers — producers, suppliers, wholesalers, importers, distributors, and exporter — must furnish evidence of financial responsibility by furnishing a surety bond to the satisfaction of the Nebraska Department of Revenue.
Current regulations indicate that the amount of surety bond required is 3 times your estimated monthly average tax liability, subject to the following thresholds:
- for aircraft fuel suppliers, distributors, wholesalers, importers, and exporters, the minimum amount is $10,000;
- for all others, it is a minimum $20,000 surety bond.
The purpose of your surety bond requirement is to guarantee to the Department that all money owed for the payment of taxes, interests, fees, and penalties will be made in accordance with state regulations.
Qualifying and the Premium
Being approved for your Nebraska motor fuels tax bond includes completing a short surety bond application — which we’ll begin with you by phone – and then having your application reviewed by a surety bond underwriter.
To facilitate ease of completing the application, it can now be sent to you by DocuSign.
The underwriter review of your application will include a credit check inquiry. For approval, good credit is required; and our rate of approval is 1%.
Upon approval of your motor fuels dealer bond and payment of the premium, our agency issues your bond to you immediately for filing. Included with your surety bond will be a Power of Attorney form.
We will sign your bond as Surety; you will sign it as Principal.
Upon receipt by mail, you’ll file both surety bond documents to:
