Polygraph Examiners License – South Carolina

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is charged with the licensing and regulation of polygraph examiners.

Obtaining the required surety bond takes a matter of minutes with our agency.

Amount of Surety Bond – Premium – Qualifying

The South Carolina polygraph examiner bond is a $5000 surety bond required of examiners. The premium is just $100 annually.

Qualifying couldn’t be any easier: After completion of a surety bond application (which may be taken over the phone with an agent) and payment of the $100 premium, the bond is issued to you immediately.

There is no credit check nor an underwriter review for this surety bond.

After the purchase, a copy of the bond can be emailed to you for no additional charge. The original surety bond – which you will need to sign before filing with the Law Enforcement Division — will be mailed to you by the following business day.

Additional Premium Prepayment Options

A South Carolina polygraph examiner bond, at $100, is active for a year. Upon or before expiration, you must renew your bond as a continued condition of licensing. At your choice, the polygraph examiner bond may be prepaid for 2 or 3 years. The advantage of prepayment is that this offers you a slight savings over year to year renewal of the surety bond premium.

Prepayment of the premium bond is broken down as follows:

  • 2 years at $180, a $20 savings;
  • 3 years at $260, a $40 savings.

Purpose of this Surety Bond Requirement

The purpose of this surety bond, as stated within the bond wording itself, is the following: It is a guarantee that you will pay any judgments against you as an examiner for acts which cause loss or liability as a results of your actions.
