The purpose of your surety bond requirement is to hold the city of Galveston harmless from any harm, payments, loss, interruptions, or repercussions occasioned by defective, incomplete, or otherwise unlawful workmanship.
Qualifying and the Premium
You and your contractor business are automatically approved for the $25,000 Galveston contractor surety bond.
There is no underwriter review nor a credit score requirement, and the premium is $250, annually.
When you call our agency we will take your short application and issue your bond to you over the phone.
We’ll ask you the basics: Your name, and the name as it should appear on your surety bond, along with your contact information. We’ll also request your social security number, although to be sure, there is no credit check.
We’ll then submit an application for you to sign electronically.
After payment of your $250 premium, our agency issues an original bond along with a Power of Attorney form, both of which you’ll file with the city of Galveston.
You’ll file the completed original surety bond with the city after having receiving your bond forms, signing your surety bond as Principal, and filing the items with Galveston.
