Texas Service Contract Provider Registration

Texas service contract providers are statutorily defined (Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 1304) as businesses which provide replacements or repairs of products that are either defective or have become worn through normal use.

These businesses may also engage in identity recovery for consumers; or, in the case of vehicles, providing compensation for loss.

The surety bond required of your service contract provider business will serve as a financial guarantee that your business will meet all obligations owed to customers to whom you are contractually bound.

Qualifying and the Premium

Applicants who require a Texas service contract provider bond up to $50,000 are automatically approved because we offer this bond for these amounts without a credit check inquiry.

The premium will be $100 or 3% of the amount of surety required, whichever amount is greater.

Applicants who require a surety bond greater than $50,000 will be asked to provide a signed surety bond application. An underwriter review and a credit inquiry are also required.

Good credit is required for approval for amounts greater than $50,000. The premium will also be 3% annually. If the amount is particularly large, you may also be asked to provide a financial statement (i.e. tax return or banking statements) to assist in the underwriting of your bond.

Once your bond is approved and the premium paid, our agency issues your service contract provider surety bond and a Power of Attorney form.

You’ll sign and file the original documents received to:
