Auctioneers and apprentice auctioneers in West Virginia are required to furnish a surety bond as mandated by the state’s Department of Agriculture. The respective surety amounts required are as follows:
Meeting the surety bond requirement will be the easiest and quickest part of your license process, taking only a few minutes.
You are automatically approved for the West Virginia auctioneer bond. There is neither a credit check nor a review by an underwriter. When you call us, we’ll take the name as it should appear on your surety bond, along with your contact information, including your address.
Once you pay the required premium --- $100 for the apprentice auctioneer bond; $250 for the auctioneer bond, our agency issues the bond to you immediately.
The bond is sent to you by the following business day for filing. We will sign your bond as Surety, and you will sign your bond as Principal before filing with the Department.
The $100 and $250 premiums referred to above are annual premiums.
For both surety bonds, we offer the option to prepay the premium for up to 3 years, which thereby saves you as opposed to renewing each year.
The premium prepayment options and savings are as follows:
-$5000 surety bond amount-
- $25,000 surety bond amount -
The bond is financial guarantee of your compliance with Chapter 19, Article 2c, Section 4 of the Code of West Virginia, as also any amendments to this legislation.
