Wyoming Vehicle Dealership Licensing
New and used Wyoming auto dealership are licensed by the state’s Department of Transportation.
Existing and renewal licensees must show evidence of a $25,000 surety bond; first time licensees should wait to get the approval for your business before obtaining a surety bond.
Qualifying and the Premium
Qualifying for the $25,000 Wyoming motor vehicle dealer bond includes completing an application, which we’ll take from you over the phone, and undergoing a credit check.
Our agency offers a premium of $375 annually for Wyoming applicants who have a good credit profiel.
As part of the application process, we’ll ask you the following:
- Whether or not your business has any judgments or lawsuits against them;
- Whether or not you have had a bond canceled or denied; and whether you have ever filed bankruptcy;
- Whether or not you have any unsatisfied collection items or liens.
The review by an underwriter includes a credit check inquiry. The inquiry is a “soft pull” which will have no impact on your score.
Upon approval of your surety bond and payment of the premium, our agency issues your bond to you immediately. We’ll follow the instructions as outlined by the Department so that there will be no issues in getting your bond filed.
Upon receipt of your surety bond and Power of Attorney form, you’ll sign as required, and then file your oroginal bond to:
