Wyoming Supervised Lender License
Supervised lenders in Wyoming are regulated by the state’s Division of Banking. While this department regulates your licensing, it is through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System that your bond and other licensing requirements — new or renewal — are filed.
Upon purchase of your surety bond, our agency will electronically file it for you to NMLS.
Qualifying and the Premium
The Division of Banking requires a Wyoming supervised lender surety bond in one of three amounts.
The surety bond amount required is determined by the dollar volume amount of the residential mortgage lender business in the prior calendar year.
The breakdown is as follows:
- Up to $2,999,999.99 – $25,000 surety bond;
- $3 million to $10 million – $50,000 surety bond;
- Above $10 million – $100,000 surety bond.
Both the $25,000 and $50,000 surety bond are offered immediately, and without a credit check. We will complete the application with you over the phone:
For these amounts, the annual premiums are:
- $25,000 surety bond $188 annual premium;
- $50,000 surety bond $375 annual premium.
$100,000 Surety Bond Amount
For the $100,000 supervised lender surety bond, a signed and completed application, and a review by an underwriter which includes a soft pull credit check inquiry are required.
Approval for the $100,000 amount is determined by your good credit. The premium is ¾ of 1%, $750, annually.
