Louisiana – Professional Solicitors
The Louisiana Department of Justice, Attorney Generals Office, is the state government which regulates the conduct of professional solicitors.
You will pay a $150 registration fee as a condition of licensing.
You are also required to provide a $25,000 surety bond. Our agency offers two different pricing structures. You have a choice as to how much you will pay for this surety bond.
Qualifying – The Premium
To qualify for the $25,000 Louisiana professional solicitor bond, you will complete an application (which can be taken over the phone).
Thereafter, you will be given a choice as to how you wish to proceed. You are pre-approved for this surety bond. Please read carefully.
If you choose to undergo a credit check—and pass with “good credit” — the premium is $250, annually. If you choose to forego the credit check, you can pay $375, and the bond will be issued to you instantly.
Therefore, an applicant for this bond will pay between $250 to $375 maximum, annually, but no more.
Once the bond has been issued, a copy of the bond can be emailed to you. The original surety bond will be sent by the following day. You will want to file the original bond with the Attorney Generals Office.
Additional Premium Payment Options
For those who choose to pay $375 annually, our agency also offers you the ability to prepay this bond for 2 or 3 years (your Louisiana professional solicitor bond is issued with a standard one year term).
Prepayment of the bond allows you to have greater intervals between renewals; it also allows you a savings over year to year renewal of the bond premium.
The breakdown is as follows:
- If prepaid for 2 years, the premium is $675, a $75 savings;
- If prepaid for 3 years, the premium is $975, a $150 savings.
