The state of Connecticut offers a professional conservator probate program which pays a monthly fee to the appointed conservator on behalf of wards who are either indigent or incapacitated.
A condition of your appointment is that, in addition to meeting the standards of conduct and other conditions as determined by the state, that you obtain a $50,000 surety bond.
The surety bond serves as a financial guarantee for Connecticut and the ward for whom you have been appointed that you will be in full compliance with all state law and ethical conduct.
The $50,000 Connecticut professional conservator probate bond is offered to you for a full term for $250 annually.
The bond has a term which begins on June 30th and renews on July 1st; however, premiums may be prorated for a term which is under 1 year. Your premium renews annually.
Our agency also offers you the surety bond without a credit check inquiry.
What this means for you is that after completion of a surety bond application --- which we will send to you via Docusign --- and payment of the premium, the bond is issued to you for signing and filing.
Upon receipt by mail, you will sign and file your surety bond and Power of Attorney form to (please confirm the following by first calling 860-231-2442):
